Peridot is a gemstone in the olivine mineral group. It is typically a bright yellow-green color and is found in volcanic rocks. Peridot is the birthstone for August and is often used in jewelry. It is also known as “evening emerald” because of its color. Peridot is relatively rare, but is found in several locations worldwide, including the United States, Mexico, and Pakistan.
